Tell us your story
It’s no secret that the pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on the Black, Asian and other communities of colour However, our voices and our stories have not always been shared via the mainstream media. We wish to create an archive of stories which stem from the pandemic. We want to preserve our stories of survival, of the commonplace and of the everyday to share with the wider community.
We are running free weekly workshops from August through to September to assit emerging artists to produce a small portfolio about their experiences during the recent COVID pandemic.
This work will be published in October 2020.
Working with local Black, Asian and other minority ethnic charities
The COVID 19 pandemic has shown how important individual acts of kindness, and local initiatives of mutual support, have been in keeping our communities alive. Much of this work has been done by people and groups within our Black, Asian and other communities of colour, often with little recognition or funding. We can help by using our skills with data collation, case studies and making visual images for your website or publication.
The project is produced with Black Country Visual Arts and funded by Arts Council England
